Don't just look at the night sky — learn about it with the augmented reality Universe2go Personal Planetarium Headset from Omegon. Using your smartphone and their free app for Android or iOS devices, the headset projects constellation lines, photos, video, text into your field of view and overlays them onto what you are looking at overhead. Accompanying music and audio commentary complete the personal planetarium experience. Your position and orientation come from the sensors native to your smartphone, and after a simple calibration process offers precise and detailed information on prominent celestial bodies such as constellations, planets, stars, galaxies, and nebulae. Multiple modes allow you to choose the type of information provided along with three hours of audio commentary. A simple foam insert can be customized for just about any compatible smartphone to hold it secure and protected. Starter:- Simplest mode
- Only shows stars and constellation lines
- Focus on the name of a constellation, the name will be enlarged and the constellation highlighted with yellow lines
- Hold the focusing circle on the name for two seconds, an audible explanation of the constellation will start
Discoverer:- Receive additional information about the stars in the constellations
- Focus on a star and an info frame with the most important data about the star appears next to it
- For brighter stars, receive audible information, interesting facts and peculiarities about it
Mythology:- Hear the stories of heroes, monsters, kings and beautiful maidens, which the ancient Greeks linked with the stars
- In addition to the lines, a pictorial representation is shown for every constellation
- Focus on the name of the constellation, and after two seconds audio commentary tells an interesting story about the mythological figure
Deep-sky:- Discover galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and supernovae
- Activate an info frame by focusing on the object in the display
- Focus on the object for longer than two seconds, the app will zoom in on the object
3-D:- The sky becomes dynamic and gains depth
- Discover many colorful nebulae, similar to Deep-Sky mode, but with an augmented sense of celestial distance
Quiz:- After gaining some experience, take a quiz about the cosmos
- App will show a randomly selected constellation, which users will have to find in the night sky
Search:- Search for stars, planets, constellations, deep-sky objects, comets, and satellites
- In the corresponding sub-menus find numerous objects in alphabetical order
- Choose an object, and the app will display arrows to lead you to the object you want to see
Expert:- Adjust the display for a customized experience
