Product description With long, narrow detection areas that extend from both its sides, the Optex BX-80NR Outdoor Battery-Operated PIR Detector is specifically designed to be wirelessly wall-mounted centrally on a building. The detection pattern covers the building perimeter with a multi-layered, horizontal barrier that detects intruders before they break in. Included on the unit is a backbox that accepts most manufacturers wireless systems, thereby making the BX-80NR a versatile, stable outdoor PIR requiring no wiring. To help reduce false activations, the range can be adjusted so that detection extends only to the end of the building. The unit also has a size-judging function, which helps it discriminate between large and small objects within the detection area. - Variable detection range from 6.5 to 39.4' (2.0 to 12.0m) on each side - creates a narrow 78.7 (24.0m) long detection area that protects wide areas such as a building's perimeter
- Double conductive shielding - reduced false alarm caused by unwanted light and RFI sources such as car headlamps or reflected sunlight
- Advanced temperature compensation - automatically increases the detectors sensitivity under high temperature conditions, especially where the background temperature ranges from 95.0 to 98.6°F (35.0 to 37.0°C), close to a human body temperature
- Limited detection range function - detection range can be adjusted to avoid unwanted objects
- Size judging function to avoid false alarms - triggers alarms only when upper and lower detection layer detect movements
- Attractive and slender design
- Being battery operated, requires no complicated wiring and saves installation time and costs
- Compatible with transmitters and receivers from a wide variety of manufactureres, hence, can be easily added as part of most wireless systems
- Advanced battery lead aids shared battery power - battery power from the transmitter can be shared with the receiver and low battery signal can be monitored by control panel
