Product description Integrating PIR and microwave technology into attractive, easy-to-install units, the DX-40 Wired Indoor Integrated Passive Infrared & Microwave Detector from Optex provides stable and reliable detection in hostile environments, where simple PIR detectors struggle to function. The PIR element incorporates Quad Zone Logic to detect the smallest temperature contrast against the background temperature, thereby enabling it to discriminate between humans and other sources of infrared. Additionally, the microwave detector incorporates Microwave Area Shaping technology to prevent unwanted detection of movement outside the coverage area. - Microwave Area Shaping Technology
- This detector reduces penetration of walls and unwanted detection of movement outside the coverage area. In addition, the detection area has uniform sensitivity that minimizes false activations caused by spot movement in the detection area, i.e. small animals.
- Passive Infrared Technology
- The detector creates evenly distributed sensitivity throughout the detection area. Accurate focus creates even sensitivity and high resistance to spot temperature changes. In addition, the spherical lens contributes to a superior aesthetic appearance, which end users will appreciate.
- Detection Area Size Configuration
- The microwave area can be easily shaped to fit the desired area and has even sensitivity. In addition, Quad Zone Logic in the PIR provides high tolerance to spot temperature changes and movements caused by small animals, heating vents, moving curtains, and vibrations caused by big machinery.
- Fail-Safe Technology - Automatic Trouble Monitoring
- Passive infrared does not detect through walls and is never affected by movement beyond these boundaries.
- Anti-PIR Tamper Function
- When PIR detection fails, a trouble output will generate via the alarm output (selectable option) and LED display.
- Microwave Watchdog Circuit (Self Checking Function)
- When microwave operation fails, the detector automatically switches to single PIR operation in Enhanced Reliability mode, thereby avoiding missed alarms.
- No False Alarms by Spot Temperature Changes
- The detector is not affected by spot temperature changes or sunlight caused by the movement of sunlight through a detection area.
- Trouble-Free Installation
- Microwave Area Shaping allows for simple, 2-step adjustment. By making minor adjustments to the Long or Short Range Selector and the Low, Medium, High Sensitivity Volume, the microwave can be shaped to match the room size. This technology reduces installation hassles and also reduces false alarms caused by penetration of wall by the microwave detector.
- No False Alarms Due to Penetration Through Walls
- Passive Infrared does not detect through walls and is not affected by movement beyond these boundaries.
- Additional Features
- The detector features enhanced sealed optics.
