Product description The HX-80N Series High Mount Outdoor Curtain Wireless Ready PIR Detector with Anti-Masking from Optex provides the stability and reliability necessary for an outdoor PIR sensor. This battery-powered model accepts most manufacturers' wireless transmitters, and allows installers to save valuable installation time and labor costs because no trenching, installing conduit, or pulling of wire is required. The most important element in reliable outdoor detector is accuracy to distinguish a human being from a small animal. The pyro element on board enables this passive infrared detector to project a detection pattern, thus allowing for more accurate detection of human beings and less false alarms. In addition, the detector's dual PIRs and 20 detection zones utilize the AND detection pattern technology; upper and lower detection areas have to be activated in order to generate an alarm condition. This technology helps to prevent false alarms caused by a pet or small animal. The detection length can be limited to avoid unwanted detection, and its short-range zones can be masked if needed. By limiting the detection range, false alarms due to unwanted movement (cars, persons, or animals outside the protected area) can be eliminated. Note: Batteries and wireless transmitters are not included. - Catch Performance
- The most important element in reliable outdoor detector is accuracy in distinguishing a human being from a small animal. The pyro element on board enables the detector to project a suitable detection pattern, thus allowing for more accurate detection of human beings and less false alarms.
- Adjustability
- The detector coverage can easily be adjusted by means of built-in flaps and plates. To adjust the long range of detection, you can set the upper and lower flaps. To adjust the short range of detection, you can set the masking plates.
- Slope Friendliness
- Not all outdoor ground is flat like most indoor environments. Steep slopes can cause negative effects on the catch performance feature. The included, adjustable bracket enables the detector to maintain the optimal catch performance.
- Saving Installation Time & Labor Cost with No Wiring or Trenching
- The detector is a battery operated model that works with most manufacturers wireless technology.
