It is outfitted with a moderate 8x magnification for a generous field of view and 33mm objectives which gather more light than smaller compact models without the bulk of large ones. The combination of power and aperture, translates to a respectable 4.1mm exit pupil to enable the exiting light to cover most pupils as they open and dilate in low-light conditions. Opticron further employs phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated optics that, when combined with the other optical factors, present the user with rich high-contrast views and accurate color representation.Through the use of both compact roof prisms and an open-bridge/dual-hinge body style, the optical tubes are made to be slimmer versus conventional Porro prism designs, with more surface area for user's hands to grip — ensuring comfortable and secure handling in all weather and conditions. The optical tubes and bridge also allow the interpupillary distance to be much closer so people with narrower faces can more easily use them. To withstand the rigors of the outdoors, the optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging.
