Product description The Optoma TS526 is an exceptional all around projector. It's got a native resolution of SVGA (800 x 600) but it can sync up with more than three dozen PC and Macintosh resolutions, offering the kind of flexibility needed when you don't know where and with what kind of computer the projector will be used next. But you can use this projector for more than just a computer display. Despite its low price the TS526 can project not only 720p high definition programming but 1080i and 1080p too. Can a projector offer a lesson in International Relations? If it's possible, the TS526 can. Its 100 – 240 volt 50/60 Hz power supply lets the projector work in almost any country with electricity. And its ability to project programming in the NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL B, D, G, H, I, M, N and SECAM B, D, G, K, K1, L standards means it'll work in just about any country that has television. If you do take it beyond American shores chances are it will charm its hosts with its knowledge of their language. The TS526's onscreen display (OSD) offers a choice of 23 languages. The hard of hearing and those learning English as a second language will appreciate the Closed Captioning the TS526 can display from programming that provides it. No matter where it is, the TS526 projects a bright, vivid (2800 lumens) and sharp (3000:1 contrast ratio) image thanks to its Texas Instruments 0.55" Digital Light Processor Digital Micromirror Device (DLP DMD). TI's DLP panels form images from not only the primary colors red, green and blue but also their complements, cyan, magenta and yellow. The result is what many authorities agree is the finest color reproduction possible. With the TS526 saving you money isn't a onetime deal but an ongoing process. Use it in STD (standard) mode instead of Bright mode and energy use is 10 percent less and lamp life soars from an estimated 3000 hours to 4000 hours. And with its DLP DMD image engine there are no filters that have to be periodically cleaned and replaced. When you're ready to go you can pack it into its included carrying case and tote it off to its next assignment immediately, thanks to its rapid on/off feature. But don't be afraid to keep it in standby mode in between classes or presentations. In standby mode the TS526 sips less than a single watt. - 2800 ANSI Lumens With a 3000:1 Contrast Ratio
- This high-powered projector can be used in large meeting rooms and auditoriums where there's a great deal of ambient light.
- 0.55 Inch Texas Instruments DLP DMD With BrilliantColor
- TI's patented DLP imager features an innovation it calls BrilliantColor. Unlike other technologies such as LCD that use just three primary colors to produce the image, DLP Technology with BrilliantColor uses up to six separate colors. Color accuracy is paramount to a quality image. BrilliantColor not only improves color accuracy, it brightens secondary colors as well. This combination produces a new level of color performance that increases the brightness of the colors by up to 50% over DLP projectors without BrilliantColor for accurate, true-to-life images. As a bonus, DLP systems don't require filters that have to be periodically cleaned and replaced.
- Internationally Operational
- The TS526 has a 100 – 240 V AC, auto switching power supply and the ability to accept and project video in the NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL B, D, G, H, I, M, N and SECAM B, D, G, K, K1, L standards. In addition to its native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution the TS526 can sync with more than three dozen other PC and Macintosh resolutions. And its onscreen display offers a choice of 23 languages, making this projector a great choice no matter where in the world you are.
- Robust Security is Built Into The TS526
- You can prevent unauthorized use of the projector by password protecting it. A keypad lock prevents inadvertent changes to projector settings. For physical security the projector has a security bar through which you can thread a steel cable (not included) and a slot for an optional Kensington lock.
- Energy Saving Features Save Money and the Environment
- In Bright mode lamp life is estimated at 3000 hours but noise level is a whisper-quiet 30 dB. Switch to STD (standard) mode and estimated lamp life soars to 4000 hours while fan noise drops to (an almost literally unheard of) 28 dB. Overall power consumption drops 10 percent from 255 Watts to 230 Watts. In standby mode the projector draws less than a single watt.
- Use the Built-In Two Watt Speaker or External Stereo Speakers
- With its bright projection system you can use the TS526 in large venues where the built-in two watt monaural speaker may not have enough audio oomph to cover the whole room. If you've got a pair of powered external speakers handy (they're not included) you can plug them into the projector's stereo mini jack for greater audio volume.
- Closed Captioning Includes Your Whole Audience
- This projector can display closed captioning from sources that provide it. CC comes in handy not only for the hard of hearing but also for those learning English as a foreign language. And it can help you get your message across in noisy environments too.
