Product description Available for download, the Overloud EQ550 is an equalizer designed for use in pro-audio applications such as mixing and mastering. The EQ is an emulation of a classic American equalizer with all aspects of the hardware's circuitry modeled. In its peaking bands, the EQ550 utilizes a proportional-Q design, which narrows the bandwidth of a frequency the more you apply gain to it. This allows for gentler sounds at low applications and more aggressive implementations at higher volumes. The equalizer provides controls for input and output level, two parametric midrange bands, and high and low bands switchable between shelving and peaking operations. A band-pass filter between 50 Hz and 15 kHz can be instantiated with the Filter switch, while cue buttons on each band let you solo the associated frequency range, so you can home in on the troublesome frequency. A Harmonics button indicates how much harmonic distortion has been introduced into the signal. This distortion is not necessarily of the distracting kind, but is often pleasant, and a result of the EQ's modeling. It is recommended that you tweak the balance between input and output if you're seeing/hearing too much harmonic distortion. You'll also note the virtual scribble strip, which allows you to clearly label the track in a manner reminiscent of the old tape-on-the-console method. This software is compatible with Mac and Windows computers and can operate in VST, AU, and AAX formats. It also works as a standalone application. - Key Features at a Glance
