Product description The unformatted 120GB Aura SSD & Envoy Upgrade Kit for MacBook Air 2010-11 Edition from Other World Computing includes Aura 6G 120GB SSD which is almost twice the capacity of the factory installed SSD. All the installation tools for opening and installing the SSD and an Envoy USB 2.0/3.0 enclosure for data transfer for continued use of the Apple SSD are also included. The Aura 6G SSD provides Mac users with an upgrade path that delivers optimal performance, functionality, and reliability. It offers up to 275MB/s speed that is 68% higher than the factory SSD, with MacBook Air 2010, and up to 507 MB/s speed that is three times faster than factory, with 2011 MacBook Air. You can even reuse the factory SSD via the OWC Envoy as an external storage solution. The kit allows you take data with you in the Aura SSD that can fit in your pocket or laptop case. You can easily add additional laptop storage, with no AC adapter required. This SSD uses SandForce DuraClass technologies that includes DuraWrite, intelligent block management and wear leveling, intelligent read disturb management, and intelligent recycling to manage and protect your data/contents. This SSD offers ECC Protection and uses RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) that protects the data on your drive, which is similar to having a RAID setup. 3G and 6G Speed - 3G Speeds with 2010 MacBook Air
