Product description Hard Drives by Application: Which Is Best for You? Read More Add 1TB of storage to your Mac Pro with the 1TB Aura Internal PCIe SSD Upgrade and Storage Solution from OWC / Other World Computing. This SSD is compatible with Mac Pro systems released in Late 2013 (MacPro6,1).
This SSD connects to your Mac Pro using its PCIe 2.0 x2 interface and features no moving parts, helping to protect it from accidental bumps and drops, as well as achieve faster data transfer speeds. Having no moving parts also means that this SSD will receive less wear and tear, as there are no read and write heads for the SSD media to come into contact with. In terms of speed, the drive offers reads of up to 726 MB/s and writes up to 698 MB/s. It also features a 4x Sandforce SF2281 controller with 7% over provisioning, a Marvell 88SE9230 RAID controller, ECC recovery of up to 55 bytes correctable per 512-byte sector, and 128-bit AES compliance. While this SSD is designed for the 2013 Mac Pro, it will work with compatible Windows 8 and above systems via OWC's Dual Boot Enabler for Apple Boot Camp and the Boot Camp utility.
