Product description RAID Arrays for Photography and Pro Video Read More If you need massive amounts of storage to meet the demands of server, audio production, and video production environments, the 40TB Mercury Rack Pro 4-Bay Mini-SAS Enterprise Class Storage Solution from OWC / Other World Computing provides users with up to 40TB of storage that is spread out over its four 3.5" SATA drive bays, each of which is equipped with a 10TB 3.5" 7200 rpm SATA hard drive with a 64MB cache, or 256MB of total cache. The Mercury Rack Pro has one external Mini-SAS interface, which helps to not only reduce cable clutter, but provides four full channels of data (one per drive) using an included 3.3' Mini-SAS cable, which provides data transfer rates of up to 2,400 MB/s or 24 Gb/s.
While the Mercury Pro is primarily designed for rackmount use and has a 1RU form factor, it can be converted to a desktop form factor using the included anti-skid and vibration dampening feet. This system is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS and included Drive Guide software will format the drives for either OS. The system is also RAID-ready, supports JBOD, and operates using an included 100 ~ 240 V power supply that runs at 50/60 Hz. Cooling is accomplished using three 4cm brushless, constant-speed fans, and also included are rack-mounting handles and screws for rack/desktop conversion.
