Product description Hard Drives by Application: Which Is Best for You? Read More Data Doubler Optical to Hard Drive Converter Bracket Kit with 1TB Hard Drive and External Optical Drive Enclosure is a Kit that makes adding extra internal storage to your Mac notebook easy. This kit will allow you to add 1TB of storage in place of the optical disc drive that is occupying your Mac notebook. This kit also allows you to convert your internal optical drive to an external optical drive with the included enclosure.
To add extra storage to your compatible Mac notebook*, insert the 1TB drive into the adapter bracket, remove your notebook's optical drive, and then insert the bracket with the drive. Thereafter, you can configure the drive via Apple's Disk Utility program and you will have plenty of options. Also, once you've removed the optical drive, you can place it into the enclosure. The enclosure allows you to continue using the optical drive with your Mac notebook. It utilizes a USB 2.0 interface for connecting it to your notebook. OWC makes the process of installing the converter bracket and replacing your Mac's original optical drive easy.
