Product description Provide AC power to your Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini, NewerTech Guardian MAXimus mini, and OWC Value Line Optical OWCVL2STOPTU2 and OWCVLU2 using the Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini Power Adapter from OWC / Other World Computing. While each of these products may be bus powered, not all systems are able to provide the necessary amount of bus power. Also, some older 2.5" drives require more power than a USB or FireWire port is able to provide. Users may also purchase this just to keep an extra power adapter on hand, should an occasion arise. While some models of the Guardian MAXimus mini are factory equipped with a 2A power adapter, this unit supplies plenty of power for normal use.
The Mercury Elite Dual Mini Power Adapter operates using 100-240 VAC @ 50-60 Hz and 0.8A. It outputs +12 VDC / 1.5A and is protected by a limited 1-year warranty. - Provides additional power to your Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini kits or the NewerTech Guardian MAXimus mini kits
- Both enclosures can also be powered using the power adapter apart from being powered via the internal bus
- Overcomes the problem encountered by older 2.5" hard drives that require more power than a USB or a FireWire bus can supply
