Product description The Mercury Elite Pro Dual 2-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Enclosure from OWC / Other World Computing is a versatile system that can speed up data transfers as well as keep your data safe and secure. It has two bays designed for 3.5" SATA III drives, easily configured in multiple RAID modes at the flick of a switch. With hardware RAID and a RAID 0 configuration, it can deliver data transfer speeds up to 388 MB/s, fast enough for HD video, large files, and more. Other RAID configurations include RAID 1, SPAN, and Independent, or otherwise known as JBOD (just a bunch of disks). Connect this device to your system via USB 3.0 and FireWire 800, and use its drive activity LEDs to quickly check its status. Furthermore, intelligent power management will keep your energy consumption low and reduce drive wear by automatically spinning down the drives when inactive. -
