Product description Add the power of RAID and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C to your compatible Windows or Mac system with the Mercury Elite Pro Quad 4-Bay USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C RAID Enclosure from OWC / Other World Computing. Also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and driven by included SoftRAID XT Lite software, this enclosure has been built with four SATA III drive bays that can each house a single 3.5" or 2.5" drive using included drive brackets. Available RAID modes include RAID 0, which offers increased read and write speeds, but no data redundancy, and RAID 1, which offers 1:1 data redundancy at a cost of 50% of the total storage capacity. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is also supported, which allows the four drives to be used independently.
This volume will be recognized on systems running OS X 10.6 and later, as well as Windows 7 and later. Connectivity to your host system is achieved using an integrated 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, and both USB Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to Type-A cables are included to help ensure compatibility with modern and legacy systems. To help ensure a smooth operating environment, the array is built using heat-dissipating aluminum, uses a cooling fan, and its included 100-240 VAC power supply runs at 50/60 Hz to help ensure worldwide compatibility. - The Mercury Elite Pro Quad's USB Type-C interface delivers 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 bandwidth and works with most USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 Mac or Windows system. Simply connect the Mercury Elite Pro Quad via the included USB Type-C cable to experience next-level performance. If your computer doesn't feature USB Type-C connectivity, the included USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable brings backward compatibility for machines with legacy USB ports.
