Product description With four SATA drive bays supporting up to 7200 rpm hard drives, the diskless OWCMRP1F8U3EP 1U Multi-Interface 4-Bay Performance RAID Kit from Other World Computing provides a variety of storage options with support for multiple RAID configurations and a variety of plug-and-play interfaces. Accompanying the four drive bays are an eSATA port, a single USB 3.0 Type-A port, one FireWire 400 port, two FireWire 800 ports, and a hardware RAID switch all located on the back of the unit. Installation of this 1U 4-Bay Performance RAID Kit has been greatly simplified as it can fit into a standard rack mount configuration or place the unit on a desktop by removing the rack mount ears and attaching the anti-ski, vibration dampening feet. - High Performance
- The Custom High Performance Chipset eSATA with Port-Multiplier capability, FireWire 800 (1394B), FireWire 400 (1394A), and USB 3.0 chipset, combined with the fast SATA drive mechanism gives this OWC Mercury Rack Pro four Bay storage solution some of the fastest drive transfer rates possible with eSATA exceeding 300 Megabytes per second.
- Multi-Interface
- The OWC Mercury Rack Pro RAID series offers one eSATA port with eSATA port-multiplier capability, two FireWire 800 (1394B) ports, one FireWire 400 (1394A) port, and one USB 3.0 port for easy plug and play on virtually any system. The OWC Mercury Rack Pro RAID even includes all needed connection cables.

- When using the OWC Mercury Rack Pro in Independent mode, all four drives appear on your system as individual volumes drives, so you can mix and match drives of any size and brand and hot swap the drives too.
- Smart Power
- Smart Power regulates power during prolonged periods of inactivity to save operating costs and prolong component lifespan.
- Flexible Form
- The OWC Mercury Rack Pro can easily be converted to a desktop form-factor via a Phillips screwdriver by simply removing the rack ears and installing the included anti-skid, vibration dampening feet.
