Product description The Slim USB 2.0 External DVD/CD Writer from OWC / Other World Computing features a USB 2.0 interface and can be used with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. This plug-and-play optical drive requires no special drivers for use and supports reading from and writing to single and double layer DVD±R media at speeds at up to 8x and CD-R at up to 24x. It also supports DVD±RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, CD-RW, CD-ROM, and more. A 1MB buffer helps to ensure that disc burning sessions complete without interruptions and this drive operates using USB bus power, meaning that no external power sources are required. Fanless ventilation helps to keep this optical drive cool.
Whether you're labeling your finished discs with adhesive label or inkjet-printable discs, OWC has included the software to give your discs a polished, professional, and finished look. Smile DiskLabel for Mac OS X allows you to create, print, and share CD labels, jewel case inserts, and DVD covers, while Prosoft Engineering Data Backup 3 for Mac OS X v10.2.8+ and NovaStor NovaBACKUP for Windows allow you to backup your data.
