Product description RAID Arrays for Photography and Pro Video Read More The ThunderBay 4 8TB (4 x 2TB) Four-Bay Thunderbolt 2 External Drive from OWC / Other World Computing comes with four pre-installed 7200 rpm hard drives and a pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports, allowing you to daisy-chain up to six devices such as additional ThunderBays, 4K displays, and more. Capable of RAID 0 read/write speeds up to 752 MB/s, the Thunderbay 4's drives can be used independently, or you can configure it with a software RAID utility. SoftRAID Lite XT for Mac is included. Compatible with both Mac and Windows systems, the plug-and-play 4-bay external drive also features a lockable front panel, a 92mm cooling fan, and a detachable 1.6' Thunderbolt 2 cable. - Cooling
- ThunderBay utilizes an open "flow-thru" vented design with a 92mm, low-turbulence, noise-quieting fan to keep the drives running cool and reliably.
- Multi-Drive
- Daisy-chain up to six ThunderBays for massive storage capabilities and increased performance, or connect multiple ThunderBays to multiple Thunderbolt 2 ports to achieve exponential speed capabilities.
- Vibration Dampened
- ThunderBay's drive isolating design reduces sonic resonance, and is aided by over-sized, rugged, vibration-absorbing, non-skid feet.
- DisplayPort 1.2 Support
- The Thunderbolt ports also support DisplayPort 1.2 that allows daisy-chaining displays through the drive.
- Certified and Tested
- Each ThunderBay undergoes OWC's multi-hour drive "burn-in" performance certification procedure prior to shipping. This helps to ensure your ThunderBay arrives operating properly and ready for demanding use.
- Configuration Options
- Utilize each of the four internal drives independently in JBOD mode, or use the software RAID of your choice to setup a multi-drive array for high performance or data redundancy.
- SoftRAID Lite XT for ThunderBay Included
