Troubleshooting
Designed for fast an efficient scanning of up to 60 sequential frames, the PowerFilm from Pacific Image is a sleek film scanner optimized for automatic batch scanning. Compatible with 35mm strips of color negatives, color positives, or B&W negatives, this scanner can be set to automatically digitize up to 10 strips of six frames with one command. Up to 24MP scans can be made for the greatest quality, or a lower resolution 6MP setting can be used for faster scanning speeds of approximately 24 seconds per scan. Operating the scanner is CyberView PF 135 software, available as a download from Pacific Image, which enables choosing between 8- and 16-bit settings, selecting JPG or TIF file formats, as well as giving control over brightness, contrast, and color settings. Additionally, MagicTouch Technology can be used to automatically remove dust and scratches using IR illumination, and a Multipass Xposure setting will make three sequential scanning passes and composite the frames to noticeably increase detail.
