Subject: Fails to load slides, slide stops part way in | Date: 27.01.2022 18:40:07 | Name: Rick | spring loaded pusher arm moves to the left when arm is withdrawn, then does not get pushed to the right soon enough so it moves along the side of the slide and slide is not inserted. Result is a blank scan file and the slide is skipped. I'm looking for disassembly advice before I tear it apart. I suspect the plastic guide is worn and needs to be enlarged. I have processed about 2500 slides and this gets worse all the time. | Post reply |

Subject: CORRECTION: Mac OS Big Sur (not Mojave) is what i'm running | Date: 06.09.2021 02:09:24 | Name: Richard Beattie | Pardon the error | Post reply |
Subject: I feel your pain | Date: 06.09.2021 01:08:09 | Name: Richard | I bought the PowerSlide X in March 2021, because I planned to use it to digitize all my hundreds of 35mm slides this year. For various reasons, I only now had the time to open the box to get the PowerSlide X set up. Big mistake! I've literally spent 6 hours today trying every trick in the book to connect it to my Mac desktop, MacBook Air (M1 chip) and my wife's Windows PC. I tried CyberView, VeuScan and LSI Silverfast. Only my MacBook Air will connect, but the only app that will run it is LSI Silverfast and the quality is terrible. My Epson V700 flatbed scanner is way better and seems to be just as fast.
My HUGE mistake was not to open it when i rec'd it, so all these issues would've surfaced and I could have returned it. The other big mistake was depending on 3 videos by one reviewer who raved about the unit's quality and performance. $900 later, I feel like I made a rookie mistake of the highest order. | Post reply |

Subject: Scanner will not communicate with computer reliably | Date: 24.07.2021 02:12:08 | Name: Alex | In response to Danial above.. I did not get a CD as well.
The scanner refuses to communicate with any software 99% of the time. Once it works it works pretty great, but when it finishes the batch it will stop communicating all over again.
I have tried CyberViewX5, VueScan, and Silverfast (connects the best but gives worst image).
I have tried on a Mac, a Windows 10 VM, a Windows 10 stand alone.
How do I fix this?? | Post reply |
Subject: scanner not communicating with the computer | Date: 22.04.2021 14:30:04 | Name: Daniel Wood | I cannot connect to the Pacific Image PowerslideX slide scanner that I purchase on 2-26-2021. The error message is telling me to refer to the manual on my CD. However, I do not recall getting one and cannot find my CD. Can you please help me or send me a link to the manual for me to download.
Thank you and have a nice day.
