Product description The Panasonic 13.1" Toughbook 31 Touchscreen Laptop is built with a full magnesium alloy design that's MIL-STD-810G certified, meaning the notebook resists 3' drops, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high and low temperatures, and humidity. The Toughbook features a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor that delivers optimum performance with a battery life capable of lasting up to 18 hours. The Toughbook's 4GB of 1600 MT/s DDR3L RAM provides efficient multitasking while its system storage is equipped with a 500GB HDD that revolves 7200 times per minute.
Its 13.1" resistive, anti-glare, anti-reflective, circular polarized touchscreen has a 1024 x 768 resolution that's powered by Intel's HD Graphics 5500. Furthermore, the Toughbook's display outputs up to 1200 nits brightness, which provides legibility in direct sunlight. Using the notebook's built-in card reader allows viewing and transfer opportunities from SDXC cards onto the Toughbook's display or hard drive.
For connecting to the internet, this notebook is supplied with Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. External peripherals may be connected via the system's USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 Type-A ports or through Bluetooth 4.0 pairing. Navigating on the Toughbook is easy with the notebook's built-in stylus holder and its included stylus pen and tether, mitigating smudges on your touchscreen. Additionally, the Toughbook is pre-installed with Windows 10 Professional; however, it's also downgrade compatible with Windows 7 Pro. - Rugged Design
- The notebook is MIL-STD-810G certified and offers 3' drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high/low temperature, temperature shock, and humidity resistance. It comes with a magnesium alloy case with a handle and features an IP65 certified sealed all-weather design. The Toughbook also features a shock-mounted flex-connect hard drive with quick-release, a hard drive heater, and even has a pre-installed film to protect your LCD screen.
- Stylus & Keyboard
- Panasonic's Toughbook includes a stylus pen with an integrated stylus holder, tether, and cleaning cloth to keep your touchscreen pristine. The notebook itself is equipped with an 87-key keyboard with dedicated Windows buttons. The keyboard provides emissive backlighting that's adjustable up to four levels, while a pressure-sensitive touchpad grants you easy navigation.
- Secure Wireless Connectivity
- The Toughbook has built-in Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7265 Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac connectivity. It's also Bluetooth 4.0 and EDR (Class 1) compatible. Furthermore, the Toughbook can come with an optional integrated 4G LTE multi-carrier mobile broadband with satellite GPS that connects with most carriers.
The notebook features password security for supervisor and user, a Kensington lock slot, reinforced locking port covers, a Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and 2.0 Security chips, NIST and Persistence Technology/Absolute BIOS compliant protection agents, and software-enabled anti-theft technology. It also comes with single-pass user-selectable antenna pass-through. - Upgradable RAM & Battery
- The Toughbook is built with two available slots for RAM expansion, which allows for a total of 16GB. The notebook's battery life can be extended up to 27 hours with an optional media bay that houses a second battery.
Windows 10 Pro - Start Menu
- After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
- Cortana
- Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
- Microsoft Edge
- After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

- For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
- Windows Continuum
- Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
- Xbox on Windows 10
- Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

- The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
