Product description Enjoy bright images in most settings with the Panasonic PT-EW550U 5000-Lumen WXGA 3LCD Projector. It features up to 5000 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which work together to overcome light in most rooms and provide detail in dark areas of the image. Additionally, this projector sports a WXGA 1280 x 800 native resolution for viewing detailed pictures or data. The PT-EW550U includes a lens with a 1.22 to 2.26:1 throw ratio that can produce images from 40 to 400"; other lens options with varying throw ratio and screen size ranges are available separately.
The PT-EW550U features 5-BNC, VGA, RCA composite video, and two HDMI inputs. The 5-BNC input can accept S-Video or composite video signals with an optional adapter. It is controllable via Ethernet, RS-232, or the included IR remote control. - Up to 5000 Lumens of Brightness
- With up to 5000 lumens of brightness, the PT-EW550U produces visible images even in areas with high levels of ambient light. Text is clear and legible while graphics and video are reproduced with natural vibrancy.
- 2000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Active Iris
- The 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is made possible with the iris mechanism, helping to produce brighter whites and deep blacks with minimal loss of detail in dark images for crisp, comfortable viewing.
- Daylight View Basic Helps Ensure Vivid Images in Bright Rooms
- Daylight View Basic uses a built-in sensor to measure ambient light and calibrate the projector to optimize brightness and halftone color, sharpening details for easy-to-see pictures in well-lit environments.
- DICOM Simulation Mode for Medical Presentations
- The PT-EW550U offers a DICOM Simulation Mode that allows the projector to simulate the results of devices compliant with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standardized display function, for display of grayscale images. The DICOM Simulation Mode, which supports both Blue and Clear Base, adjusts the gradation between the minimum and the maximum luminance, so gradation is distributed optimally. This feature is optimized for displaying medical images such as X-rays, CAT scans, and MRIs, which makes the PT-EW550U useful for non-diagnostic purposes such as lectures, academic meetings, and hospital conferences. This feature is recommended for use in medical schools for training and educational use only.
- Color Adjustment for Multi-Screen Projection
- Color adjustment corrects subtle variations in the color reproduction range of individual projectors set up for multi-screen projection, particularly in side-by-side configurations.
- Powered Lens Shift, Zoom, and Focus via Remote Control
- The adjustment range of the powered lens shift function helps assure convenience and versatility during installation. Zoom and focus are also easily adjusted via the remote control.

- Integrates into Existing A/V Infrastructure
- With support for PJLink Class 1, Crestron Connected, AMX, and RS-232C over wired LAN, nearly any legacy unit can be swapped out for a PT-EW550U without disrupting your existing control and management infrastructure. Emulation via RS-232C allows original settings to be preserved. The PT-EW550U also supports the optional Early Warning Software that notifies the administrator ahead of time when part replacement is required.
- Extended Lamp Replacement Cycle
- The PT-EW550U features a lamp replacement cycle of up to 5000 hours, helping to lower operating costs, labor, and waste by extending the operation period between lamp maintenance.
- Dust-Resistant Cabinet and Long-Life Eco Filter
- If dust gets inside the projector's optical unit, brightness suffers. The PT-EW550U protects against dust intrusion with a one-way airflow design and enhanced sealing for the lens block, air intake duct, and Eco filter. This electrostatic Micro Cut Filter captures dust particles and requires no maintenance for up to 15,000 hours. It can also be washed and reused. The PT-EW550U is designed to maintain brightness for longer in high-traffic environments while reducing servicing costs.
- Eco Management Reduces Power Consumption
- A variety of Eco Management functions are accessible via a button on the remote control. These include brightness optimization for ambient lighting conditions, and lamp power reduction when no input signal is detected.
- Designed for Quiet Operation in ECO Mode
- The quiet design reduces operating noise to just 29 dB, helping to keep the audience focused on your presentation.
- Easy-Access Lamp and Filter
- To reduce hassle, the filter can be replaced via the side and the lamp from the top of the projector. There's no need to remove the unit from its ceiling mount for periodic maintenance.
- Project Wirelessly with the Optional ET-WML100 Module
- The optional ET-WML100 wireless USB module enables projection of a variety of media via Windows, iOS, or Android devices loaded with an appropriate app. Whether projecting from a desk or ceiling, there's no need for cables. You can also display content from more than one device at a time in Multi-Live Mode.
- Presenter Light Version 1.0 for Windows computers: Stills, video, documents (including PDF and PowerPoint files), and other media displayed on the computer screen can be wirelessly projected. Images from up to four computers can be projected simultaneously.
- VueMagic Pro for iOS/Android devices: Select still images and document formats, including PDF files, are supported. VueMagic Pro features Live Camera Mode and Annotate Mode. Images from up to four devices can be projected simultaneously.
