Product description Control your Hue lighting with the Hue Tap Switch from Philips. When used in conjunction with the required Philips Hue bridge (available separately), the switch enables you to turn your Philips Hue light bulbs on and off. The switch uses kinetic energy and is powered by touch, so it works without batteries. The switch can be mounted to a wall using screws or adhesive tape, allowing you to use the controller as a conventional light switch. Additionally, the Tap Switch can be used as a remote control. Four customizable buttons on the switch can be preset to your four favorite settings. You can choose a scene you created, a Philips-created scene, or you can program the switch to simultaneously turn all your lights off.The Philips Hue system uses the ZigBee Light Link protocol for wireless connection without requiring an Internet connection or a network hub/router. When connected to the Hue Bridge, you'll be able to add up to 12 Tap Switches, enabling you to control your lights with multiple switches. You'll also be able to manage the switch from the Hue app via an iOS or Android mobile device when it's connected to the Bridge. The switch is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. - Wireless and works without batteries
