Product description The Photo Mac Pro Workstation Turnkey with DaVinci Resolve and 12TB RAID Storage is a professional post-production solution for video editors and colorists working with 4K content. The kit pairs an Apple Mac Pro workstation computer with Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve software and Tangent Element control panels. The turnkey also features a 12TB Thunderbolt 2 external storage/editing array, Blackmagic UltraStudio 4K Thunderbolt 2 I/O device, Apple Magic Mouse 2, and a backlit keyboard with shortcuts for Resolve. The hardware and software in this bundle have been configured and tested at to ensure that all of the components are working nicely together.
The Mac Pro version featured in this turnkey has a 3.0 GHz, eight-core Intel Xeon E5 processor along with 32GB RAM, a 512GB PCIe-based SSD drive for internal storage, and dual 6GB AMD FirePro D700 graphics cards. Having two graphics cards allows one card to dedicate itself to driving monitors or other external displays, while the second can provide additional processing power to DaVinci Resolve and other GPU-accelerated tasks/applications. By shifting computationally intensive tasks, such as transcoding video, to the GPU, the system is able to free up CPU resources for other tasks, helping make things run faster and more efficiently.
A full software license for DaVinci Resolve for Mac is provided, giving access to an industry-standard color grading software with integrating timeline-based editing capabilities. Incorporating node-based image processing, the DaVinci Resolve provides color correction, power windows, and effects for nodes that offer a powerful color correction medium as compared to layers. Faster workflows in real-time are offered via the four included Tangent Element control panels, which provides full tactile control, including buttons, trackballs, and knobs.
The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K is a video I/O device that can capture as well as output SDI and HDMI video. It supports a wide range of frame rates and resolutions, all the way up to DCI specification 4K (4096 x 2160) at up to 60 progressive frames per second. It features a rackmountable form factor, is powered using an included power cable, and interfaces to the Mac Pro using a supplied Thunderbolt cable. For simultaneously editing and backing up your high-resolution footage, a 12TB external RAID array is included. Actual storage capacity will differ according to the RAID configuration, which can be setup in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50. Like the UltraStudio 4K, the RAID array connects to the Mac Pro via an included Thunderbolt 2 cable.
