Product description A Guide to On-Camera Flash Read More cxvyudtasvbqsrbdtctr Able to work with numerous camera systems due to its all-manual design, the Juno Flash from Phottix is a highly-capable lighting option that should find a home in nearly any photographer's bag. This flash also boasts a built-in 2.4 GHz Ares II transceiver for wireless triggering of other flashes or remote triggering of the Juno itself via an optional remote from a range of up to 328'. This system supports 16 channels and four groups and even offers Phottix's Digital ID function for reducing the chances of being fired by other nearby systems. In addition to these features, the Juno can function as an optical slave with either an instant sync or skip pre-flash mode.
For general use, the flash has power control from 1/1 to 1/128 in 1/3-stop increments, which maxes out with a guide number of 190' at ISO 100 and the 200mm setting. Many lens types are supported with a zoom range of 20-200mm, as well as a pull-out diffuser that works with lenses as wide as 14mm. Users can reposition the head easily for bounce lighting as the head can tilt from -7 to 90° and can rotate either left or right 180°. The flash will even recycle as fast as 0.1-5 seconds.
Operation is made easy with a rear command dial and backlit LCD display. This provides a method for quickly viewing and changing settings. A stroboscopic mode is present in the Juno for advanced photography and a PC sync port is present for connection to other systems or for use off-camera. It also has a 1/4"-20 thread for horizontal mounting to a light stand or bracket. Additionally, it runs on four AA batteries and has a Canon-type HV power port for using optional external power packs.
