Product description The Pigtronix Philosopher’s Rock pedal, intended for electric guitars, is a compressor/sustain stompbox with an analog optical circuit. It’s designed to provide a wide range of compression tones, giving you transparent dynamics-taming or a more noticeably slammed sound. The pedal also includes a toggle-switch that instantiates harmonic distortion similar to the sound of tube rectifier sag, in which a small tube amplifier is pleasantly overloaded with signal.The pedal accomplishes its vast tonal varieties with only two knobs: Volume and Sustain. Treble and Blend controls are inspired by the Philosopher’s Tone pedal and have been preset to a level desirable for easy operation in the studio or onstage. The stompbox offers true bypass circuitry to make sure your tone remains uneffected when the pedal is disengaged. Running on standard 9V power, the Philosopher’s Rock includes an 18V adapter to provide more headroom, clarity, and output overall. - Key Features at a Glance

- VOLUME: This dial sets the overall output level.
- SUSTAIN: This control determines the threshold at which the compressor begins to kick in. Lower SUSTAIN settings will provide a more transparent, studio-type of compression, while higher SUSTAIN settings will impart a more noticeable squashed sound with additional sustain on tap.
- GRIT: This toggle switch adds in a layer of harmonic distortion featuring germanium-diode clipping. This distortion can be combined with another distortion pedal or overdriven amp channel for achieving a searing lead tone.
