Product description The BDR-209DBK 16x Blu-Ray/CD/DVD Writer from Pioneer is an internal SATA drive that burns up to 16x on BD-R (25GB) media and 14x on BD-R Dual Layer (50GB) media. It is backwards compatible with DVD and CD media. The drive is also 3D capable. It allows you to watch standard and 3D Blu-ray disc titles and author HD Blu-ray disc content, while also delivering the ability for high capacity data storage*. You can store the equivalent of 10 single-layer DVDs with Blu-ray BD-R Dual-Layer (DL) discs. This drive features QuickPlay, which enables movie discs to be ready faster, a noise suppression design to minimize noise, an anti-dust design for increased durability, and the Precision Writing technology to minimize write errors. The drive supports buffer underrun protection on Blu-ray disc, DVD, and CD media. It also supports a wide range of blank media. It is also compatible with Mac Pro*. Note: *3D playback software required. Sold separately.
**You have to remove the front part as with all the drives for the Mac's - Faster Burning
- This drive can burn up to 16x on BD-R media and up to 14x on BD-R DL discs.
- QuickPlay
- This feature decreases the waiting time between inserting a disc and the disc being ready.
- Noise Suppression Design
- The tray cushion and the top cover of the drive are designed to reduce disc rotation noise.
- Anti-Dust Design
- The sound barrier design that suppresses noise inside the drive also works to keep dust outside the drive. This makes the drive dust resistant and prevents drive failure due to dust.
- Precision Writing
- The chassis design maximizes disc stability and write quality by reducing warping at high speed caused by disc vibration, especially on the outer areas of the disc.
