Product description Supporting both 12cm and 8cm discs, the BDR-211UBK Internal BD/DVD/CD Writer from Pioneer comes bundled with CyberLink PowerDVD 14 UHD-BD software, allowing for the playback of Ultra HD Blu-ray media on compatible Windows systems. If you're looking to use this drive for playing Ultra HD media, minimum specs include Windows 10, a 7th generation Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 3840 x 2160 display that supports HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2. If you're simply looking to use this drive for its reading and writing to Blu-ray, DVD, and CD media, minimum specs require Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, or Vista, an Intel Core Duo T2700/E6300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1024 x 768 display.
When it comes to reading and writing optical media, dual and triple layer Ultra HD BD-ROM discs, single and dual layer BD-ROM discs, single, dual, triple, and quad layer BD-R discs, and single, dual, and triple layer BD-RE discs, as well as a variety of DVD and CD media are all supported. BD-R media can be written at speeds up to 16x, BD-RE up to 2x, DVD±R up to 16x, DVD±R DL up to 8x, DVD-RW up to 6x, DVD+RW up to 8x, CD-R up to 40x, and CD-RW up to 24x. BD-R and BD-ROM read speeds are supported up to 12x, DVD-ROM SL up to 16x, DVD-ROM DL up to 12x, and CD-ROM up to 40x.
The BDR-211UBK Internal BD/DVD/CD Writer connects to your system using its SATA III 6 Gb/s interface and a built-in 4MB data buffer helps to keep disc writing errors to a minimum. Including the first setting, the region code on this drive can be changed five times, after which the selected region setting becomes permanent. Drive Features - Supports Ultra HD Blu-ray Playback

- With a storage capacity of up to 156% more than a 50GB Blu-ray disc, the BDXL format supports 100GB Triple Layer (TL) and 128GB Quad Layer (QL) media.
- Faster Burning
- Up to 16x writing on BD-R SL discs, 14x on BD-R DL discs, and 8x writing on BD-R TL discs.
- QuickPlay
- With QuickPlay, the amount of time between inserting a ROM disc, and that disc being ready, has been reduced. For movies on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, the disc is ready faster when compared to previous Pioneer drives.
- Smooth Movie Playback
- Scratches, fingerprints, and other abnormalities on the surface of a disc can sometimes cause Blu-ray and DVD movie playback to stop. When a PowerRead-enabled drive is not able to read through obstructed areas of a disc, it will attempt to move forward quickly to the next available data point, resulting in smoother Blu-ray and DVD movie playback.
- Auto Quiet Mode
- Pioneer drives with Auto Quiet mode monitor how they are being used and adjust their speed automatically, with higher speeds for data transfers and lower speeds for music or movie playback.
- PureRead3+
- Scratches and fingerprints on your CDs can cause them to skip. A drive normally makes a calculated guess at the unreadable data and attempts to correct this to match the original music. However, this is not 100% accurate. PureRead3+, when enabled, makes the drive re-read the obscured data to extract the original music as accurately as possible.
- Blank Media Support
- Pioneer strives to support a wide range of BD and DVD media. Refer to the drive's media support list for all supported media and the write speed that can be achieved.
- Peak Power Reducer
- This power saving mode enables the drive to suppress its power consumption at peak operation, allowing it to remain stable in the event of a reduction in available power.
