Product description The RM-07 from Pioneer is a 2-way active studio monitor designed to provide accurate sound reproduction and extended high frequencies for audio engineers, music producers, composers, and songwriters in small- to mid-sized control rooms and personal studios. The 150W Class AB amplifier is bi-amped to drive a 6.5" aramid fiber woofer and 1.5” hard-dome aluminum tweeter, yielding a frequency response of 40 Hz to 50 kHz.The RM series incorporates an HD-coaxial driver that places the woofer and tweeter on the same axis to ensure a truer response across the frequencies. A proprietary waveguide minimizes interference between the drivers, producing a neutral sound with enhanced isolation. The bass port on the front of the low-resonance enclosure is grooved to decrease standing waves and increase impact. Additionally, an acoustic tube in the cabinet further absorbs standing waves, ensuring true reproduction of low to mid frequencies. You can tune the frequency response curve to your listening preference via the built-in 3-band equalizer.Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA input jacks allow you to easily connect to your monitor controller, mixer, audio interface, or portable device. - Quality Design
- For enhanced audio performance, increased bass output, and reduced unwanted resonance, the speaker utilizes a highly rigid aluminum die-cast enclosure and bass reflex ducts. To optimize sound quality and reliability, the woofer is made with aramid fiber. The aluminum hard-dome tweeter was designed using Pioneer's HSDOM (harmonized synthetic diaphragm optimum method) technology, which uses non-conventional diaphragm placement to extend the high-frequency response.
- Clean Bass
- To improve airflow through the port of the enclosure, the port hole was engineered with grooves to help direct the sound waves smoothly. The technique decreases standing waves from the mouth of the port, resulting in smooth bass and mid-bass output with more impact. Pioneer's AFAST (acoustic filter assisted system tuning) technology reduces standing waves that can produce a muffled response in the low and midrange spectrum. An acoustic tube in the cabinet absorbs standing waves, ensuring true reproduction of low to mid frequencies.
- Coaxial Driver Unit
- The RM series incorporates an HD-coaxial driver unit based on TAD (Technical Audio Devices) Lab's technology. The woofer and tweeter are placed on the same axis to ensure a truer response across the frequencies. A newly developed waveguide minimizes interference between the drivers, producing a neutral sound with enhanced isolation, ideal for nearfield monitoring.
- Class AB Bi-Amp
- A 150W Class AB amplifier in a bi-amp configuration drives the tweeter and woofer separately. A clip indicator aids in protecting the unit from excessive input levels.
- EQ Controls
- Tweak the frequency response curve to your listening preference via the built-in 3-band equalizer on the back of the speaker. Adjust frequencies in one decibel increments (-2 dB to +1 dB) at 50 Hz (Low band), 140 Hz (Mid band), and 10 kHz (High band).
- Inputs
- Two types of inputs, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, are provided for connection to different devices, such as external sound cards, computers, DJ equipment, and portable devices.
- Auto Standby
- For convenience and power conservation, the speaker includes an Auto Standby mode that automatically turns itself off when there is no input signal sensed after 25 minutes, and powers back on when signal input is detected.
