Product description Enjoy your music as it was intended with the Pioneer SE-MONITOR5 Hi-Res Stereo Headphones. These fully enclosed dynamic headphones are made with 50mm cellulose nano-fibers and offer a frequency response range of 5 Hz to 85 kHz. The housings are made from magnesium alloy, have double-chamber construction, and float on rubber insulators. Included with the SE-MONITOR5 are three cables, two types of earpads, a 6.3mm adapter, and a carry pouch. - Cellulose Nano-Fiber Drivers
- The 50mm SE-MONITOR5 drivers are made from cellulose nano-fiber, which is wood-derived pulp that has been finely ground to several hundredths of a micron—and smaller—for high strength and light weight. The material is stiff enough to enable extended high-frequency response, yet absorbs small resonances for faithful and natural source reproduction.
- Base and Housing
- The base and housing of the headphones are made from a rigid magnesium alloy that suppresses distortion-causing vibration, which results in enhanced capacity for deep bass at high volume.
- Double-Chamber Construction
- The main chambers have sculpted diffusers, which channel sound pressure into ported sub-chambers that are vented to release the pressure from the system. This reduces sound pressure behind the driver so it can move as intended, thus generating clean bass response and reducing sound leakage.
- Full Basket System
- Drivers are held in place with a full basket system to suppress resonance. The magnesium alloy basket and base are secured together with screws.
- Floating Structure
- The driver bases connect to the super duralumin alloy hangers, which use a floating structure with rubber insulators to prevent left-right channel interference.
- Cables
- Three cables are included with the SE-MONITOR5. 5.2' and 9.8' unbalanced cables are made with dual-braided wires and have gold-plated 3.5mm stereo connectors. The 5.2' balanced cable has dual-braided wires as well, and it terminates in a gold-plated 2.5mm 4-pole stereo connector. This cable splits left and right signals to eliminate crosstalk.
- Earpads
- For all-day comfort, the SE-MONITOR5 come with two pairs of memory-foam earpads. One is wrapped in leather-like material while the other is covered in a velour-type cloth.
