Product description The Fault Trapper from Platinum Tools allows you to determine the type of fault in a recurring electrical event, and thus, give you the information necessary for overcoming frequent circuit-breaker trips and No Fault Found conditions. Consisting of a meter and an inline module, the device Fault Trapper technology called Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry (SSTDR) to monitor live circuits, capturing the time and distance to shorts, opens, and arc faults, and saving the event information in its memory for later perusal. The inline 40A module divorces any circuit under its surveillance from the breaker panel, as well as any other breaker. Any last fault can be seen off-line by means of its backup battery. The setup of this unit is quite simple: Put it in line, press the test button, and that’s it. After a period of time, you’ll be able to see, on its display, the particularities of breaker trips and NFF conditions in plain language like “open short” or “short”, with the distance clearly indicated above the description. Its LCD is backlit for dark areas, and it runs on inline power while monitoring. This unit will work with dedicated circuits up to 300 VAC and 40A. - Key Features at a Glance
