Product description The Plustek SmartOffice PS286 Scanner is a compact, high-speed desktop scanner that converts documents into digital files. Despite its small size, the PS286 offers high-speed scanning of up to 25 pages-per-minute. With an optical resolution of 600 dpi, the PS286 captures high quality images in black & white, grayscale or color. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder accepts a wide variety of media from business cards to legal size papers and is specially designed to take plastic cards such as embossed insurance ID cards and driver licenses. With the industry standard TWAIN and Windows WIA drivers, you can be assured of compatibility with virtually any imaging software. A programmable Single-Touch function button permits users to pre-set nine customized functions for different scanning needs, such as creating searchable PDFs, scanning to e-mail, or file documents by simply pressing the same button. The SmartOffice PS286 is bundled with a powerful suite of software applications to make this scanner efficient and productive. - Scanning Versatility
- Create searchable PDFs, scan to e-mail, scan to FTP, OCR, BCR, copy, or file documents by simply pressing a button. Nine different scanning jobs or functions can be easily setup to meet your scanning needs. Searchable PDF, JPG, multi page TIFF, RTF, XLS file formats are supported
- Auto Features with Plustek Software
- The SmartOffice PS286 is bundled with a suite of document management and scanning applications that allow you to be productive right out of the box. In addition to searchable PDF, the SmartOffice PS286 can create all popular image file formats and editable Microsoft Office files. Industry standard TWAIN and WIA drivers ensure compatibility with thousands of image enabled applications.
- ID and Business Cards
- Business cards can be scanned 20 sheets at a time in portrait position. Plastic cards can be scanned one at a time in landscape position.
- Automatic Size and Auto Crop
- When scanning various sized documents at one time, smaller sized documents are often scanned at the wrong size. The Auto Crop function can automatically identify the dimensions of the image and crop around the edges.
- Auto Deskew
- The Auto Deskew function helps automatically straighten the skewed image after auto cropping is finished.
- Color Dropout
- Three Color Dropout modes allow you to remove a color channel such as red, green or blue while scanning. For example, if the original document contains blue text or a blue stamp (e.g., a bill or invoice) and you want to discard it from the image, you may select Blue Channel from the drop-down list box and the blue will not be visible.
- Blank Page Removal
- The blank page removal feature automatically removes blank pages after document scanning.
- Automatic Thresholding
- Automatic Thresholding eliminates the need to manually adjust contrast and threshold for each page. This feature automatically adjusts for darker or lighter areas on a document when scanning in black and white.
- Software Bundle
- The PS286 comes with a software bundle designed to make your scanning experience easy, productive and creative. The bundle includes Plustek DocAction utility for configuring customized settings, Plustek DI Capture, image capture and management software, ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus which comes with a simple user interface and supports recognition of up to 177 languages. It allows you to create Microsoft Word, Excel, TXT and HTML files. The Hotcard BizCard Finder 3.0 supports batch scanning, customization of categories, a calendar reminding function, slide show creation, database backup and more. Also included are NewSoft Presto! PageManager 7.10, a powerful document management software for Optical Character Recognition/OCR and PDF creation, and NewSoft Presto! ImageFolio 4.5, a comprehensive multimedia image processing program.
