Product description Essential Guide on How to Mic Talent for Video Read More The Polsen MO-IDL2 is a dual-mic setup consisting of two lavalier condenser microphones wired to a custom cable with a DSLR/smartphone switch. It offers accurate speech capture of two subjects for podcasting, vlogging, video and television production, interviews, and public address. Each electret condenser element produces a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, which is honed to complement the sound of the human voice. The omnidirectional polar pattern ensures responsive sound pick-up from all directions and avoids the bass boost caused by proximity effect. An in-line switch enables the MO-IDL2 to be easily compatible with DSLRs, camcorders, PCs, and mobile devices. Affix the supplied windscreens to reduce wind noise, breath noise, and plosives. With an attached Y-cable nearly 20' long, the mics allow you to maintain a close-up position while pulling your video capture device back for long-distance shots. The included 1/4" TS adapter facilitates proper connectivity to an unbalanced mic input, as commonly found on portable PA systems. Use the tie clips to attach the mics to your subjects' clothing; lapels and collars are commonly used. For convenience in storage and transport, the MO-IDL2 comes with a carry pouch. - Dual Lavalier Microphones
- Record two subjects simultaneously to your DSLR, camcorder, smartphone, or computer via two microphone capsules, which are wired to one 3.5mm TRRS mini jack. The microphones may be affixed to the talent using the supplied tie clips for discreet positioning and elevated sound quality while leaving the subjects' hands free.
- Vocal-Tailored Frequency Response
- Each electret condenser capsule's wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz is customized to complement the human voice. Whether recording in the field or working with an audience indoors, the tone and dynamic range of the MO-IDL2 yield an accurate and natural sound.
- Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
- By utilizing an omnidirectional polar pattern, each capsule of the MO-IDL2 is able to capture sound from all around it. Its 360° responsiveness maximizes consistency in volume even when the subject turns away from the mic. It also eliminates the proximity effect that can occur when the mic gets too close to the talent.
- Function Switch
- A clearly labeled in-line switch allows you to switch modes. In Camera/On position, the microphones will work with any device using a 3.5mm TRS plug, ensuring compatibility with DSLRs, camcorders, and computers, and the included battery powers the microphones. Alternatively, in Phone/Off position, the mics will work with 3.5mm TRRS plugs found on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, and are operational via power from your smartphone.
- Long Attached Cable
- Each microphone's attached cable features a 4' run to the switch, where a single cable extends 15.7' to the 3.5mm jack. This Y-cable design allows sufficient slack for placing the mics up close while your camera or smartphone is kept at a distance.
- Tie Clips & Foam Windscreens
- Use the supplied tie clips to securely and inconspicuously attach the mics to clothing for proper on-camera appearances. Handily reduce problematic wind noise and plosives by fitting the included foam windscreens atop the mic capsules.
