Product description The Standard Porta-Jib with Mitchell Camera Base is a two-stage, round-tube jib arm supporting camera rigs weighing up to 100 lb. This versatile jib includes a Mitchell camera insert; it may also be used with separately available 150mm or 100mm camera bases. This two-stage, telescoping jib arm has a reach of 57", a pull-back of 19", and a boom range of 72". Features include a Vector Balancing Bar, 7 lb fine-tuning weight, a boom lock, and pan lock. The Vector Balancing System enables you to transfer weight from the horizontal bar to the vertical Vector Bar, creating a zero-drift effect.Counterbalancing the Standard Porta-Jib is done using the adjustable rear section, the Vector Balancing Bar, the fine-tuning weight, and standard weights (barbell weights available separately). A Mitchell tripod base is included; compatible bases available from Porta-Jib include a 150mm base, lightweight tripod base, and a DV column base. A boom drag function is available when the Standard Porta-Jib is used with compatible bases except for the 150mm bowl base. The Standard Porta-Jib is constructed of machined aluminum and stainless steel components, and is made in the USA. Note: Tripod not included; the Standard Porta-Jib is not compatible with 100mm tripods. Warning! The boom drag feature only works properly with the P-J Lightweight Tripod Base, DV Base, or Mitchell Base. If you have a Porta-Jib with a 150mm base you will not have a pin locking into a key-way as you would with the Mitchell Base. Consequently, if you apply an amount of boom drag and then boom the jib counter-clockwise, you may begin to unthread the jib's tie-down assembly. This could become very dangerous. Jibs with 150mm bases should use this knob for pan lock only, not for drag. - Camera Mount
