Product description Designed to expand the storage of select QNAP NAS units, the REXP-1210U-RP 12-Bay RAID Expansion Enclosure from QNAP is a flexible and budget-friendly solution for organizations who need to tackle applications with intense data growth, such as archiving, high-resolution media storage, and video surveillance. It has been built with 12 hot-swappable drive bays that support 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s hard drives and SSDs.
Built with a 2 RU form factor, the REXP-1210U-RP has three SAS wide ports (SFF-8644) for host connectivity and daisy-chaining. Each SAS wide port combines four SAS channels, with each supporting 6 Gb/s full duplex speed. This solution delivers speeds of up to 24 Gb/s per host connection. In addition to expanding an existing volume, the REXP-1210U-RP can also be used as external storage to perform backup tasks for QNAP NAS devices using their RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) or rsync services. Thanks to the support of QJBOD Express (JBOD enclosures roaming), data on the REXP-1210U-RP can be migrated to another NAS without needing a network connection. If your NAS does not have mini-SAS ports, the SAS storage expansion card (SAS-12G2E) is required.
The REXP-1210U-RP is compatible with QNAP's TDS-16489U, TES-x85U, TVS-1582TU, TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP (R2), TS-ECx80U (R2), TS-ECx79U-SAS-RP, SS-ECx79U-SAS-RP, TS-ECx79U-RP, TS-x79U-RP, TS-x73U/-RP, and TVS-x71U/-RP. To utilize this expansion enclosure, simply connect it to one of the supported NAS models and power it on. The NAS will automatically detect the hard drives as newly-installed local drives, after which the capacity of the NAS may be expanded and managed by using the QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager. Each NAS must also be running the QTS 4.2 or later operating system.
QNAP's REXP-1210U-RP operates using dual redundant and hot-swappable 400W power supplies with 90-264 VAC inputs at 47-63 Hz, and is cooled by three 6cm hot-swappable smart cooling fans. Included is a 1.6' SAS cable (SFF-8644), two power cords, flat had screws for 2.5" drives, and flat head screws for 3.5" drives. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty General Features - SAS-II 6 Gb/s RAID Expansion Enclosure for QNAP NAS
- The REXP-1210U-RP expansion enclosure is designed for expanding the storage space on a QNAP NAS by attaching multiple expansion enclosures via high-speed 6 Gb/s mini-SAS cables. It is a flexible and budget-friendly solution for organizations to tackle applications with intense data growth, such as archiving, high-resolution media storage, and video surveillance.
- Expand Your NAS Storage
- QNAP expansion enclosures provide affordable choices to store and back up an ever-growing amount of data. Check the compatible expansion enclosure for your QNAP NAS and the maximum number of applicable expansion enclosures.
- Plug and Use, Seamless Capacity Expansion
- Simply connect a REXP-1210U-RP to a compatible QNAP NAS and power it on. The NAS will detect the hard drives in the REXP-1210U-RP as newly-installed local drives. You can seamlessly expand and manage the NAS capacity by using the QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager. Please note that each NAS must be using QTS 4.2 or later and each QNAP expansion enclosure must support a concurrent 1-inward and 1-outward connection.
- Missing Mode Protection
- If the disconnection of an expansion enclosure is detected, the NAS blocks IO access to help protect data. The system can recover from missing mode to its normal state with the data staying intact.
- High Density, High Efficiency, and Highly Scalable
- The REXP-1210U-RP supports a high storage capacity by accommodating up to 12 hard drives in a 2 RU rack space. The REXP-1210U-RP has three SAS wide ports for host connectivity and daisy-chaining. Each SAS wide port combines four SAS channels, with each supporting 6 Gb/s full duplex speed. This solution delivers performance of up to 24 Gb/s per host connection.
- Storage & Snapshots Manager
- The QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager presents tools and options for managing system storage with an intuitive graphical user interface to help simplify NAS capacity expansion and REXP-1210U-RP management. Administrators can monitor the health of the REXP-1210U-RP and the disks within it. When cascading multiple expansion enclosures in a rack, the "Locate Disk" and "Locate Enclosure" functions assist in quick maintenance.
- Backup Solution for QNAP NAS Units
- In addition to expanding an existing volume, REXP-1210U-RP can be used as an external storage unit to perform speedy and secure backup tasks for a QNAP NAS. The QNAP RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) or rsync service lets administrators back up NAS data to the REXP-1210U-RP on a real-time or scheduled basis. With the support of QJBOD Express (JBOD enclosures roaming), you can migrate data stored on the REXP-1210U-RP to another NAS without needing a network connection.
