Product description The QNAP TDS-16489U 16-Bay NAS Enclosure comes armed with two Intel Xeon E5-2620 processors, 64GB of DDR4 RDIMM, and sixteen drive bays to provide you with an all-in-one server that is capable of delivering high-performance application and storage services. This double-serving enclosure is capable of hosting numerous virtual machines along with recording videos from up to 80 IP cameras. For image or analytical jobs, an available PCIe Gen.3 x16 slot supports AMD Radeon graphics cards. The TDS-16489U streams the data to your network by utilizing four 10GbE ports as well as two Gigabit Ethernet ports. Additionally, the ports offer redundancy and link-aggregation support to help ensure data is always available.
The sixteen bays are compatible with SAS- and SATA-based hard drives in the sizes of 2.5" and 3.5". You can populate these bays with optional enterprise-class or surveillance drives to fit your needs. To improve the delivery of data, the QNAP TDS-16489U also comes with four additional 2.5" bays that are well suited for 2.5" SAS/SATA SSDs, which can be used for caching since they provide faster reads and writes than a typical drive. Once drives are installed, you can configure them in a RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, or 10 mode to prevent the loss of data and improve the drive's performance.
QNAP has designed the TDS-16489U in a 3 RU rackmount form factor and equipped it with redundant 650W power supplies. It comes preinstalled with the QTS 4.2 operating system that empowers your business with file sharing, storage, real-time remote replication, and more. With this combination of features, you can add tiered file sharing as well as iSCSI and virtualization applications to everyday business needs. In an open network environment, the TDS-16489U safeguards your sensitive data with numerous security options such as IP blocking and AES 256-bit encryption. Aside from protecting data, four USB 3.0 ports as well as four 60mm cooling fans are onboard.
