Product description Designed for media studios or small creative workgroups looking to simplify their workflows, the TS-453BT3 4-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP features dual 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports, M.2 SSD caching, and 10GbE network connectivity. It is well-suited for professional collaborative media editing and high-speed file sharing and has been upgraded to include an OLED panel with two capacitive touch buttons.
The TS-453BT3 is powered by a 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron J3455 Quad-Core processor and 8GB of DDR3L RAM in a 2 x 4GB configuration. Network connectivity is achieved using the one 10GbE port and two Gigabit Ethernet ports that help accelerate virtualization applications and file sharing across devices. Or, use one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports on your Mac to get direct 10GbE access using the Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet (T2E) converter. This NAS also supports a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, Hot Spare, and Global Hot Spare, each of which offers data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both.
This 4-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s hard drives, as well as 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s SSD drives. When using the one 10GbE port, it can achieve download speeds of up to 683 MB/s and upload speeds of up to 543 MB/s. With AES 256-bit volume encryption, download speeds max out at 690 MB/s and upload speeds are delivered up to 520 MB/s. Using the Thunderbolt 3 interface, downloads reach as high as 514 MB/s and uploads max out at 356 MB/s.
Using the external two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports, five 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and one HDMI 1.4b port, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, as well as other external drives and displays at resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz.
