Product description Powered by a 3.0 GHz AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core processor, the TS-877 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP is a high-end desktop business NAS for improved video and virtual machine performance. When combined with its integrated hardware and multitasking software, the TS-877 is ready to tackle resource-demanding applications and tasks, including virtualization and 4K processing.
Aside from its AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor, this NAS is driven by 16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM in a 2 x 8GB configuration, and network connectivity is achieved using four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support service binding, port trunking, and MPIO configurations. A variety of RAID modes are supported, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, Hot Spare, and Global Hot Spare, each of which offers data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. For those who do not need a RAID, JBOD and Single modes are also supported.
This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s hard drives for data storage, as well as 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s SSD drives for caching, thanks to six 3.5"/2.5" drive bays and two 2.5" drive bays. There are also two M.2 SATA III SSD slots for caching or caching pools to help accelerate performance, with support for M.2 2240, 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors.
PCIe expansion affords the option to expand this NAS with 10GbE or 40GbE network adapters, PCIe NVMe SSDs, graphics cards, 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 cards, and wireless network cards. The TS-877 is equipped with one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, one PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, and one PCIe 2.0 x4 slot. When using dual 10GbE cards, sequential read speeds can reach as high as 2344 MB/s and sequential write speeds max out around 1761 MB/s. When running encrypted sequential transfers, read speeds max out around 2301 MB/s, while write speeds reach 1739 MB/s.
Using the one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Type-A port, and six USB 3.0 Type-A ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, as well as other external drives and displays, thanks to HDMI support via PCIe expansion. The TS-877 is also validated with FIPS 140-2 AES 256-bit encryption, helping to prevent sensitive business data from unauthorized access and breaches.
The TS-877 8-Bay NAS Enclosure operates using a 450W power supply that runs on 100-240 VAC @ 50/60 Hz. It includes two Ethernet cables, a power cord, flat head screws for 2.5" drives, flat head screws for M.2 SSDs, and two M.2 cooling modules. Protection is provided by a limited 2-year warranty.
