Product description Built with several QNAP technologies, including VJBOD, Container Station, and Virtualization Station, the TS-963X 9-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP has the potential to empower a wide range of business applications and can also be easily expanded to fit future data storage requirements. Designed for small- and medium-sized businesses, it is powered by a 2.0 GHz AMD GX-420MC Quad-Core processor and 8GB of DDR3L RAM, which can be upgraded to 16GB.
Network connectivity is achieved using one 10GbE port, which supports speeds of 10 Gb/s, 5 Gb/s, 2.5 Gb/s, 1 Gb/s, and 100 Mb/s, plus one Gigabit Ethernet port. The 10GbE port can drive file transfers with sequential reads of up to 779 MB/s and sequential writes up to 569 MB/s, while encrypted file transfers deliver read speeds of up to 508 MB/s and write speeds of up to 513 MB/s.
This 9-bay enclosure has 5 drive bays that can natively house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III hard drives or SSDs, plus four 2.5" SATA III drive bays that use SSDs for caching with auto tiering that continuously optimizes storage utilization across high-performance SSDs and high-capacity SATA drives. Using the two 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-A ports and two 480 Mb/s USB 2.0 Type-A ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, including one UX-800P and/or UX-500P expansion enclosures. Additionally, the TS-963X is validated with AES-NI and 140-2 AES 256-bit encryption, helping to prevent sensitive business data from unauthorized access and breaches.
QNAP has engineered this NAS to support JBOD and single disk modes, plus a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60, each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. For those who do not need the benefits of a RAID, JBOD, and single disk modes are also available. This NAS operates using an included 120W AC adapter and includes two Ethernet cables, a power cord, flat head screws for 3.5" HDDs, and flat head screws for 2.5" HDDs. - The TS-963X is equipped with an embedded 2.0 GHz AMD G-Series GX-420MC Quad-Core processor with a high-performance, low-power, system-on-chip (SoC) design which delivers great performance and high-power efficiency. The 8GB of DDR3L system memory can be upgraded to 16GB to further boost system performance. With four built-in 2.5" druve bays for SSDs and a 10GBASE-T port, the read/write throughput can reach up to 779 / 569 M/s (unencrypted) and 508 / 513 MB/s (AES-256 volume encryption with AES-NI acceleration).

- The TS-963X supports the out-of-box 10GbE connectivity with a built-in 10GBASE-T port that supports five speeds (10G / 5G / 2.5G / 1G / 100M). The 10GBASE-T port utilizes the Aquantia AQtion™ AQC107, an enterprise-class multi-gigabit Ethernet controller, which lets you quickly perform more applications such as database transfers, virtual machine storage, and big data backups.

Virtual switches support several modes for connecting containers, VMs, NAS, and physical network interfaces for flexibly deploying business IT infrastructure while ensuring high security.

- A complete disaster recovery plan requires multiple layers of data protection and backups. The TS-963X can use snapshots to record the state of files and changes to them at the block level, so you can quickly revert to previous versions should an accident (such as deletion or malware attack) occur. For added data security, the Hybrid Backup Sync app can help back up, restore, and sync files to/from local external devices, remote NAS, and public cloud services.

- The TS-963X supports SMB/CIFS, NFS, and AFP protocols for file sharing across Windows, Mac, and Linux/UNIX networks. Data can be centrally stored and protected by rigid security measures provided by the TS-963X. The Windows AD and LDAP services enable system administrators to configure user permissions by using an existing Windows AD server, LDAP server, or built-in LDAP service. To sync data across devices, including mobile phones and tablets, simply install Qsync Central on the NAS and Qsync clients on other devices to enjoy a fast, private, secure, and real-time file sync service.
