Product description The TS-EC880U R2 8-Bay Unified NAS Enclosure from QNAP quickly takes care of your enterprise data storage needs by featuring two 10GbE SFP+ ports and eight bays, which can each house a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA III hard drive or SSD. This enclosure sports a quad-core 3.5 GHz Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3 processor and 4GB of DDR3 ECC memory to run iSCSI and virtualization applications as well as the QTS operating system. You can configure your drives in a RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, or 10 mode to enhance the drive's reads and writes, while preserving data in the event a drive fails. To increase I/O throughputs, QNAP has outfitted this enclosure with two mSATA slots so you can install flash modules for caching data. Additionally, four Gigabit Ethernet ports are on board to serve a large number of simultaneous connections.
Once drives are installed, the TS-EC880U R2 can reach a throughput of up to 3,700+ MB/s and 400,000+ IOPS. Powering and cooling these features are accomplished by two redundant 400W PSUs and four 60mm fans. Using four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other external drives. For safeguarding your data, this enclosure encrypts your data with FIPS 140-2 AES 256-bit encryption. Aside from data protection, it supports SMB/CIFS, NFS, and AFP protocols for file sharing across Windows, Mac, and Linux/UNIX networks. - Internal Cache Port for IO Acceleration

- Removable Motherboard Drawer

The motherboard itself can be removed and replaced without needing to remove the heavy TS-EC880U R2 from the rack cabinet, making it especially useful in maintaining the TS-EC880U R2 in data centers with multiple rack cabinets. However, please note that power-off is necessary before removing the motherboard drawer. It is not hot-pluggable
