Product description The Firefly from Radial Engineering is a single-channel active direct box that features a Class-A front end, and a 12AX7 tube stage to add warmth. A variable low-cut knob enables you to optimize the sound of a variety of instruments, such as electric and acoustic basses, electric and acoustic guitars, mandolins, viola, and more. The Firefly features two 1/4" Hi-Z inputs with independent Trim knobs, and it's possible to connect both active and passive instruments. A "Drag Control" terminal gives you the ability to adjust the load correction so you can get the best tone from a magnetic pickups. - A button on the front panel enables you to switch between the A and B inputs
- The separately available JR2 footpedal makes it possible to switch inputs with your feet, and mute the outputs
- The dedicated 1/4" Tuner output stays active when muted
- The Aux 1/4" output can be set to Pre or Post: Pre sends a clean signal directly from the instrument, Post applies both the tube and Insert loop effects
- The 1/4" Insert jack makes it possible for both connected instruments to share the same effects pedals
- The balanced XLR output is transformer coupled to eliminate hum and noise
- A handle is provided which can be removed for rack mounting
- The front knobs are protected by upper and lower protruding metal edges
