Product description Forget screaming through the door and using wild hand gestures to tell the drummer to quiet down on the next take; Radial Engineering's Studio-Q Talk-Back Interface with Built-In Mic is a simple, compact system which makes communication between the artist and engineer/producer convenient in the recording studio.
The Q has an onboard mic for saving that SM57 for micing the snare, or an XLR input for a tabletop mic that makes you look more producer-y; each mic has a designated trim control. The program signal path is balanced for easy integration with most desks, and you can set its volume with the level control on the front panel. For remote control, the JR1 mute footswitch (available separately) can be connected via a jack.
When the Q is activated for talkback, the program volume reduces to its preset level, for more streamlined communication. Lastly, the Studio Q has an output for sending a dry contact to a beacon for getting those shoegazer bands' attention. -
- Simple interface
- Straightforward connectivity for easy setup
- Can use onboard microphone or desktop mic
- Designated trim pots for each mic
- Remote switching capabilities with the JR1 mute footswitch (available separately)
- Balanced program signal path
- Dry contact output for beacon connection
