Product description The black SUB 8006-AS Professional Series Active Subwoofer from RCF features an 18" transducer with 4" inside/outside voice coils with the cabinet being designed to maximize low frequency resonance. It is of a direct radiating, high output, large-format sub woofer system design, proven in complementing high efficiency, full-range loudspeakers.
The SUB 8006-AS has been designed to extract the efficiency from every part of the system, resulting in the effortless reproduction of low frequency transient response. As a self-powered system, the transducers, amplification, and DSP control electronics of this sub are designed to work in harmony, and optimize performance and maximize perceived power output.
The subwoofer's efficiently tuned cabinet houses a precision backvented, long-excursion, new high power 18" cone driver, providing a fast and controlled reproduction of the bass frequency range. This subwoofer features a 4" inside/outside voice coil to minimize power compression and extend the life of this product.
The driver has also been engineered for maximized efficiency using high gauss ferrite magnets for increased powerful magnetic field strength. High magnetic field strength increases the driver's sensitivity, which yields improved high output while keeping heat dissipation requirements within operational tolerances.
This subwoofer is powered by a Class D, 1,250W digital amplifier module, which operates with higher efficiency, in a lighter weight format. It delivers fast attack, realistic transient response and good audio performance. The amplifier features a solid mechanical aluminum structure, which not only stabilizes the amplifier during transportation but also assists it in heat dissipation.
The input board includes a volume control, and DSP feature controls, such as a deep/punch switch, high pass switch, phase switch, time delay, and a preset for Cardioid setup. An easy to reach delay knob on the back allows to set the overall delay of the speaker, in meters, according to its specific application. 3 status LEDs - Power / Signal / Status are provided for monitoring the system.
The DSP control electronics and power supply is integrated into a single, field-replaceable module mounted in the rear of the cabinet. The cabinet is constructed of multi-ply hardwood and coated with a textured black finish. Integral metal grilles lined with acoustical black mesh protect the cone drivers. Integrated mechanics are for multiple configuration with HDL 20-A Active Line Array Module. Two side handles are included to ease in speaker handling. - 2,500W peak power; 1,250W RMS
