Product description The black SUB 8006-AS Professional Series Active Subwoofer from RCF features two 18” transducers with 4” inside/outside voice coils, designed to deliver a strong low frequency response. This direct radiating, high output, large-format subwoofer system is designed to compliment full-range loudspeakers. Driver mounting maximizes cone area and minimizes frontal area, providing acoustical performance and physical configuration well suited for creating large subwoofer arrays.
This subwoofer has been designed to extract efficiency from every part of the system, allowing for accurate low frequency transient response. As a self-powered system, the transducers, amplification, and DSP are designed to optimize performance, and maximize power.
This subwoofer’s efficiently tuned cabinet houses 2 precision backvented, long-excursion, high-power 18” cone drivers, providing controlled reproduction of the bass frequency range. It also has a 4” inside/outside voice coil to minimize power compression and extend the life of the speaker.
The drivers have also been engineered using high gauss ferrite magnets for powerful magnetic field strength. High magnetic field strength increases the driver’s sensitivity, which yields high output while keeping heat dissipation requirements within operational tolerances.
This subwoofer is powered by a 2,500W digital amplifier module with Class-D technology that is designed for performance and high efficiency in a lightweight solution. The amplifier also features a solid mechanical aluminum structure, which not only stabilizes the amplifier during transportation but also assists it in heat dissipation. The integrated DSP offers equalization, soft limiter, compressor, and user adjustable settings such as deep/boost EQ, low pass, phase reverse, and a preset for a cardioid setup.
An easy to reach delay knob on the back allows you to set the overall delay of the speaker in meters, according to its application. Three status LEDs for Power / Signal / Status are provided for monitoring the system. The DSP control electronics and power supply is integrated into a single, field-replaceable module mounted in the rear of the cabinet. The cabinet is constructed of multi-ply hardwood and coated with a textured black finish. Integral metal grilles lined with acoustical black mesh protect the cone drivers.
