Product description The RDL Active Loudspeaker Format-A Series features a white grill and is designed to deliver rich, detailed sound while in Decora-style compatible wall or chassis mounts. The loudspeaker is a single-pair audio amplifier module compatible with RDL Format-A twisted pair products. The speaker is powered by its twisted pair cables, which also offer different channels to accommodate more than one sound source. A rear panel switch set during installation determines which of the three Format-A pairs are amplified.
Amplification is provided by the built-in high efficiency Class D power stage amplifier with audio filtering tailored to produce crisp quality audio. The high-efficiency Class D output stage amplifier produces negligible heat for all levels of voice or music modulation. The amplified output level is controlled by a front-panel volume control. The loudspeaker features a built-in analog compressor/limiter that makes higher sound output levels possible without clipping.
The built-in driver is constructed of materials found in premium larger speakers. The unique steel enclosure provides full baffling in a tightly sealed rigid structure. The benefit of this enclosure is that it's designed to provide sonic presence within an extended frequency range that would normally be expected from larger speakers. Internal filtering rolls off out-of-band frequencies to reduce distortion and increase peak power capability. Dispersion covers a spherical area of nearly 180 degrees with the speaker mounted in a wall. - Designed to provide quality audio for an ultra-compact size
