Product description The Red Giant Frames Plug-In is an electronic download of a plug-in for adding the 24p look to interlaced video. This version is priced for students, academic institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. The plug-in supports both Windows and Mac platforms, working with select versions of Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. Adding the 24p look to interlaced footage is just the start. It includes the original Magic Bullet plug-in now called Frames Plus. The Frames Plus tool features an Auto Setup button, that figures out the initial settings to use, and then allows you to adjust the details. Frames Plus supports the 24p conversion from legacy After Effects projects that used the original Magic Bullet plug-in.
The Frames tool is a more advanced version of Frames Plus, providing you with more manual controls and options, as well as crop and reposition adjustments. Conversion algorithm choices allow you to choose between speed and smoothness. Frames includes tools for deartifacting, ensuring a broadcast safe signal and letterboxing options. Settings for film like fades, dissolves, and burn to white transitions give you a different look than the standard video transitions. - Host Application Support
- Frames works as a plug-in for select versions of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple's Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion. Please check the specifications tab for a list of the supported software versions.
- Format Support
- Get true 24p conversion from any interlaced material, including NTSC, PAL, and HD formats, Frames supports the bit depth of the host application allowing you to work at greater than 8-bit depth.
- Original Magic Bullet Plug-In
- The Frames Plus toolset is the original Magic Bullet plug-in, and is at the heart of the Frames plug-in. Frames Plus quickly converts interlaced footage to a new rate of 24p, or 23.976 frames per second. Its Auto Setup button figures out the initial settings for deinterlacing and deartifacting sparing you the tedium or the hit and miss manual method for figuring that out.
- Advanced Manual Control
- The Frames toolset provides the same effect as Frames Plus, but with more manual controls such as; Field Order, Field Interpolation and Field Smooth. the aspect ratio tool allows you to crop your footage to Widescreen or Super 16, and reposition a frame with the Shift slider.
- Conversion Modes
- The choice of two conversion algorithms: field blending for speed, or motion adaptive for smoothing the edges of moving areas. Its Field Order and Field Interpolation controls let aid you in delivering artifact-free video.
- Deartifacting
- The Deartifacting controls remove compression artifacts and enables you to repair lost color information in DV and HDV footage. Remove subtle imperfections in digital video that could be big problems on the big screen.
- Broadcast Safe
- The Broadcast Spec tool concentrates on getting the Chroma signal correct, so you can render out broadcast-ready files.
- Letterbox
- The Letterbox tool crops your final output to any aspect ratio, and includes presets such as 16:9, 4:3 and 1.66:1. The boundary between the letterbox "bars" and the image is always clean and sharp.
- Keyframeable
- Slider Controls are keyframeable, allowing you to animate your settings over the duration of the clip.
