Product description The B&H Kit includes the Redrock Micro Cobalt Cage and the Deluxe Accessory Kit for your GoPro HERO3, HERO3+, or HERO4 action camera. The kit allows you to mount your GoPro in the Cobalt Cage with or without the included GoPro underwater housing. The Cobalt Cage is made of precision-machined aluminum and it's surrounded by 22 1/4"-20 threads for more flexible mounting options. You can use it to attach support rails, suction cups, clamps and more. The Cobalt Cage works with all GoPro accessories as well. Plus, since this Deluxe Kit includes accessories that allow you to use your GoPro HERO3 and Cobalt Cage together without the standard underwater housing, you'll be able to eliminate the fogging that can sometimes plague otherwise clear shots, while still keeping the camera protected. - Redrock Micro Cobalt Cage for GoPro HERO3 / HERO3+ / HERO4 The Redrock Micro Cobalt Cage for GoPro HERO3 / HERO3+ / HERO4 is designed to protect your GoPro action camera from falls, bumps, and crashes. The GoPro attaches into the Cobalt Cage, and in the case of the camera can be used with or without the GoPro original underwater housing. The optional Redrock Micro Deluxe Accessory Kit allows you to attach the camera without its underwater housing, which eliminates the possible fogging that can plague your video and still shots, while still keeping the camera and its optics protected. In contrast to the one mounting point of GoPro's housing, the Cobalt Cage provides 22 different 1/4"-20 threads that surround the camera in all 360°. This allows you to use the Cobalt Cage to attach a variety of GoPro camera accessories.The lightweight 6.5 oz Cobalt Cage features a reinforced high tensile design, and it's made of military-grade aluminum. This makes it impact-proof, crash-proof, and crush-proof. The multiple mounting points also allow you to mount the GoPro using a true triangulation method, which minimizes vibrations by providing stable and secure mounting. You can also expand your arsenal of mounting options with support rails, suction cups, clamps and more. You can under-sling or side-sling the camera as well, which will help you capture perspectives that would be otherwise impossible to capture with just the GoPro stock underwater housing.
Note: For use with the HERO3+ and HERO4 the Dive Housing is required. The original HERO3 housing (which is the same as the Dive Housing) is compatible. - Cobalt Cage can be used with the Dive Housing or Skeleton Frame. In addition, the camera can also be used withount any housing when employing the optional Deluxe Accessory Kit

The GoPro housing is waterproof and may cause fog and soft images. By eliminating the housing, you also maintain access to camera's card slot and you reduce the total weight of the cage and camera, as the brackets and screws weigh much less than the housing.
