Product description Eliminate unnecessary filler time at your next gig with the Roadie 2, an automatic tuner that allows guitarists to switch between alternate or custom tunings on the spot. Like its predecessor, the Roadie 2 works with electric and acoustic guitars, as well as with ukuleles, mandolins, banjos, and any stringed instrument equipped with guitar-like tuning pegs (excluding the bass, whose pegs are much larger than the aforementioned instruments).
Operation is simple: Clamp the Roadie 2 onto a tuning peg, strum the string, and let the device do the work as it uses its pre-programmed settings, 60-RPM motor, and 300:1 gear ratio to tune your string. With a detection accuracy of less than ±1 cent, and a tuning accuracy of up to ±2 cents, the Roadie 2 is more accurate than the human ear. It's also able to tune to A:440, A:444, or indeed, to any reference pitch between 420 and 460 Hz. Should you opt to use the Roadie 2 as a string winder; you'll find the 60-RPM motor will come in handy, as it's faster than your fingers.
The Roadie 2 comes with a free app that turns your iOS or Android device into a control center, letting you choose from—or create—a plethora of alternate and open tunings. The app will also keep track of your strings' health, gently reminding you when it might be time to swap them out for a new set. The device and the app communicate over Bluetooth 4.0.
You can also use the device without the app in standalone mode, where 12 presets are available directly from the Roadie 2, selectable by means of the unit's intuitive interface. The tuner features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last a month off a single charge. A USB charging cable is included.
