- K-Tek KE-89CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole with Internal XLR Cable The K-Tek KE-89CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole provides a moderately priced, lightweight boompole solution for ENG, EFP, and other field recording applications. Its sturdy aluminum design is tough enough to endure the rigors of road use, while remaining lightweight and travel-worthy. This pole features an internal coiled cable and an XLR connection at the base of the pole. A total of four aluminum sections telescope between 2' 5" to 7' 6" and will easily store in any standard equipment case. The captive-collet coupling system locks each section in place for even further reliability.
- Internal coiled XLR cable and connection at the base
- The KE-89CC features a bottom-mounted three-pin XLR connection
- Designed to fit in any standard equipment case, for ENG, EFP, and DV location production work
- Jam-resistant collar coupling
- Unique pole-top design with cable retention slots and replaceable stainless steel mounting stud
UPC: 791090332033 - Auray Universal Microphone Pistol Grip The Auray Universal Microphone Pistol Grip is a handheld grip that features an ergonomic cushioned handle. This grip is great in "run & gun" situations in which a boom pole would be cumbersome, and in video scenarios in which the cameraman is also responsible for audio recording. The grip can be held with one hand, as opposed to a boom pole which requires two. It also provides the option of being able to record audio from a different direction than the camera is pointing, an advantage over camera mounting the mic. Furthermore, having the mic mounted off the camera prevents it from picking up motor noise from the lens focusing.
In addition, the grip features standard 3/8" threads on both ends. This allows you to attach your shotgun mic (with shockmount) to one end of the grip and mount the other end to a boom pole. This gives you the flexibility of being able to quickly detach the pistol grip and the attached shotgun mic from the boom, an option that can come in handy for entering areas that are too small for a boom pole. - Ty Ford Audio & Video Book: Audio Bootcamp Field Guide 4th Edition by Ty Ford Audio Bootcamp Field Guide - After answering thousands of online questions from videographers about how to capture better sound on video shoots, studio and location audio pro Ty Ford wrote "Ty Ford's Audio Bootcamp Field Guide." Readers are initially surprised by how small the book is, but find that there are no wasted words and that all of them make sense to the average human; no electronic formulas to memorize, no discussions about wavelengths, calculus, trigonometry or physics required.Boom, lav and handheld mics are discussed. A section on mic patterns and their strengths and weaknesses help you choose which mic is best for a particular shot. The Mixer section explains why a mixer can make your audio sound better and how to connect everything to help you get better production sound rather than spending time in post trying to fix problem audio. A Q&A chapter takes you through the thought processes required to make good decisions about how to get the best audio you can, regardless of the setup. The Good Gear Guide is an up to date list of solid location audio gear. The Equipment Rental Guide is a list of qualified professional equipment rental houses in the US, in case you need to rent audio gear you don't have. Heavy-duty plastic covers insure the book will survive in a run bag. Spiral binding allows the book to remain open to the page you want without having to hold it. The Anti-Panic Checklist on the back cover helps you through those anxious moments when you know some thing's wrong, but you're not sure where to look. In a companion online video tutorial, Ty Ford demonstrates the differences in ear-worn, lav, supercardioid and shotgun mics. You hear what the mics sound like as they are being used with an on-going narrative that explains what you're hearing and which mics work best in different situations.
