| Subject: inconsistency in Roland SPD-One Wav Pad user manual | | Date: 02.02.2023 00:03:32 | Name: Kurt | HI
The product description says this:
Main output (mono) and headphones output (stereo) for monitoring
then the "technical parameters" say this:
Connectors
Master Output (Stereo) Jack: 1/4" (6.3 mm) phone type
Headphones Jack: Stereo 1/4" (6.3 mm) phone type.
(I wanted to run several of these into line level "Aux" inputs +this leads to several questions.
1. Is the Main output a Mono output or a Stereo output?
2. Is the main output BOTH?
3. Is the stereo headphone output just sending a (dual) MONO signal? (out of a TRS jack?)
4. When sending a dual mono signal out of a TRS jack, do TS cables work just as well? and is that why the "Main output" is listed as both "mono" and "stereo"?
5. Can a TRS cable be balanced or unbalanced? -and is one better if plugging an "SPD-ONE" into a typical stereo 1/8" "Aux" input jack (such as those found on most modern speakers [from computer speakers to the Bose S1], or the "Aux in" on an electric piano keyboard.) (Yes I know I'd have to get a custom cable made to go from the 1/4" out to the 1/8" in, but that is not the question. Question is WILL IT SOUND GOOD? or is there an incompatibility between whatever type of signal the SPD-ONE is putting out and what the average "Aux-in" jack needs to have sent in..
(sorry if this was long but all the questions sort of overlap, so it needed to be done, thanks+cheers!) | | Post reply |
