Product description - Hands-On Review: Rycote Perfect for Range of Windshields and Shock Mounts
This Windshield Kit from Rycote is intended for use with the Sennheiser MKH416 and other select shotgun microphones. It can be used with a Schoeps CMIT5U or a Rode NTG3 shotgun microphone and is a complete modular windshield system including a suspension mount, a windjammer, a windshield, cables, and other essentials. This kit is a suitable solution for anyone who does not already own a suspension mount or windjammer. - Compatible Microphones
- The Windshield Kit 416, optimized for the Sennheiser MKH416, is also fully compatible with other top shotgun microphones, such as the Schoeps CMIT 5U, DPA 4017B, Sanken CS-3e and CS-2, Neumann KMR 81i, and Rode NTG3
- Fits Like a Glove
- The 14.5" basket of the Windshield Kit 416 perfectly ensconces the Sennheiser MKH416 and other compatible shotgun microphones, as does the included shock mount
- Lyre Microphone Isolation
- A 72-shore Lyre suspension system isolates the microphone; this, in conjunction with the included and captive cable, minimizes handling noise
- RF-Shielded XLR
- This kit includes the Rycote 90° Shortie XLR inside the basket, which sports a built-in RF Shield to aid in facilitating clean audio capture from condenser microphones in dirty RF environments
- Included Windjammer
- The included Windjammer facilitates wind attenuation while preserving transparent audio transmission
- Boom Adapter and XLR Holder
- An included adapter attaches to boompoles via industry standard female 3/8" UNC brass thread attachment, while an offset Cyclone Series XLR holder sits outside the shield to hold the tail of the XLR cable firmly in place
